Arrived as a large group and they did really well to accommodate us. The local brews were lovely and food was delicious! Thank you for a wonderful afternoon.

Excellent Christmas lunch in a pleasant and comfortable environment! Large portions of delicious food across the 4 different meals we ordered. Steak and kidney suet pudding has large, melt in your mouth, meat and exceptional flavour! First rate Otter Ale on hand pump. No wonder we keep coming back.

Lovely looking pub in the village , service was great and the food was nice.
The starters were fabulous, but have to say we had sausage and mash for mains and the mash wasn't creamy it was kinda " smashed" with lumpy bits. Sausages had a slight taste of chilli running through, not to hot.

My wife and I had eaten here a couple of times before, both midweek, and had gorged ourselves on some excellent food, including the fabulous steak and kidney pudding, so we decided to try the Sunday Roast - especially as there are so many good reviews. Sorry to say that we were very disappointed. I tried the mixed meat version, adding a cauliflower cheese (£4) as a side. The beef slice was sinewy and bland, the lamb tasteless, and the pork reminded me of school dinners. All of the meat on my plate seemed to have been microwaved before serving, giving it a 'boiled' taste and texture. On the other hand, my wife's beef looked medium rare and far tastier - which she was happy to confirm. The vegetables (red cabage, a few green beans, carrots, and a spoon of swede) were all well overcooked and lacking seasoning. They were served in small quantities on a small sharing platter which, again, made for a very disappointing experience. The 3 roast potatoes were piping hot but weren't crisp - and were also bland. The Cauliflower cheese, although cheesy to taste, was incredibly watery - the worst I've ever encountered - and I've had a few! The best part of the meal were the Horseradish and Mint sauces, so I'm guessing they weren't homemade. This was a real pity, as The Church House Inn is a decent pub in a pretty village, with ample parking and great serving staff. My previous dining experiences there had been fabulous. Not sure what's changed, but it certainly isn't for the better and we've been put off from returning on a Sunday. There are several, far better Sunday lunches to be had in the vicinity.

One of the best pubs we’ve ever been to, after getting lost while driving through tiny farm roads. The pub is rich in history as well the church beside it. This is as authentic as it gets will visit again some day.

We are Australians travelling and staying down the road, we dined out for dinner around 6:30pm on a Saturday night. We didn’t make a reservation but we’d recommend to, if you come later as they were starting to get busy as we were leaving.
We ordered Westcountry Rump Steak and Lasagna.
We requested the steak to be cooked medium rare but it came out more on the medium side, although super tender which was good. We didn’t complain but if we had, I’m sure they would’ve been happy to replace. The rest of the food, sauces, drinks and sides were perfect that’s why we didn’t want to be a bother.
Staff were great and locals even friendlier!

Loved it here! Interesting specials & very good menu. Good value for money when comparing to the general area, plus excellent tasty & good quality food. Booked to go again when family visit. Dog friendly in certain areas. 10/10.

Lovely pub in a fabulous little village. Staff fantastic lots of choice of food and drinks . Lots of locally sourced options too. We had the steak and kidney pudding it was jam packed with meat my partner really struggled to finish it . I had the minted lamb burger which was the nicest burger I have ever had and could not finish it. My daughter got the child’s sausage and chips with beans which was a large portion too. Highly recommend!
