If you want to stay somewhere quiet, beautiful, full of wildlife and sheep, with a pleasant host, (but without luxurious washing facilities) then this is for you. We stayed in a yurt in early September for 5 nights. It was very clean and cosy with an extremely comfortable double bed, plus seats inside and out, a wood burner and fire pit, plus crockery and cutlery. The sheep were fantastic neighbours as were the buzzards, toads, kingfishers and tawny owls that we heard / saw every day. There is a communal area which was more than perfectly adequate despite another review. Several fridges, freezers, a cooker and washing up stuff. The toilets and shower are small but clean with hot water which is all we needed (depends what you are going there for!) Peter was extremely accommodating, very kind and we had a wonderful stay. Would highly recommend, good value if you want an outdoor rustic experience without having to put up your tent and bring all your camping stuff, which is what we normally do. P.s. to be clear there's no electricity or wifi, which is great if you want to switch off. It's really off the beaten track with amazing coastal walks, little beach coves and interesting ww2 history nearby.
Walkability: Very rural

Stayed with 3 other families and the reviews don’t show the truth about this glamp site communal kitchen was filthy and had to clean fridges before use some of the saucepans were rusty and unusable will never return and cannot believe they have a waiver of £50 if left dirty which is a real shame as it could be a real lovelly place and maybe the pictures need updating and maybe for the price paid employ a cleaner the yurt was full of cobwebs so good luck
Nearby activities: Lovelly local pub and village shop about 15 mins away not the 5 mins in the description

We had booked the entire campsite for the weekend. No accommodation unit is particularly secluded so if you don't know your neighbours and they are a bit noisy there is little way to escape it. But great for groups of 12+.
Walkability: Nearest pub is a 15minute walk with a fairly steep hill.
Restrooms: Basic but warm!

Nice place, very peaceful, nice yurt, only downside the shower area is near impossible to change in it’s that small, would probably return.

A lovely tranquil retreat. A short drive to town centre but in the middle of nowhere. Complete relaxation and the host is very accommodating. The yurt was very homely and the fire made it a perfect atmosphere. Great walks nearby and dartmoor not very far away. Would recommend for couples, groups of friends and families - a great break.

Always a chill one down here. Come once 0r twice a year to properly relax. It speaks volumes that you always meet like minded, friendly people on site. The hot tubs are fantastic, and make sure you invest some time into making your own pizzas in the cob pizza oven.
